Autumn / Winter Fashion

Something about wearing knits and cardi's is just soooo cozy... and it's in fashion. Nice one! Here's a few things I think are pretty cool for Autumn/Winter. I am not a fashion expert by ANY means but I do admire people who can just pick things up and put it together in the Carrie Bradshaw or Kate Moss way! Here they are...

Happy Wednesday!

I realise I haven't blogged much lately, been trying to finish my autumnal wall hanging and also had a visitor from Canada come over, my best friends mum actually, so it's been a bit busy around here. Dawne was in the UK for 2 weeks doing a tour of the UK and she stayed with us for a couple of days. We took her around Liverpool to see the sites and one day over to Conwy, North Wales (love Conwy Castle), then down to London.. it was a nice break. While in London we took in a show called Dreamboats & Petticoats which was pretty good actually. We really got into the music (I love all kinds of music). So we were rockin to the 50's & 60's music.

Well, I've finished my wall hanging... finally! It looks really good actually. I'm quite surprised at how well it turned out and like I said before I have NO experience in sewing/quilting.. YouTube is how I learned. Mainly watched Missouri Quilt Co vids plus a couple of others from The DIY Dish. You gotta check them out if your new to quilting / sewing and or looking for inspiration.

The finished picture

While I'm on the subject of YouTube, there's another person who I subscribe to and watch all the time.. she's all about make-up. Her link is MakeupByTiffanyD   She has a lot of make-up tutorials plus product reviews and a few little extras.. she's pretty cool. Anyway, thought I'd share that with you guys.

Happy Autumn everyone!  xx

Jamie Oliver's Tray Baked Chicken | Dashrecipes.com

We have Jamie Oliver's America cookbook and it's brilliant! Last weekend we were looking to make something out of it with Chicken and I found this recipe. It was SO yummy. I have to say that I altered it a wee bit because it was just for the 2 of us and I had only boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I also added some seasonal squash that I found in the grocery store. I didn't use the cream that it calls for. I read that some people were having problems with it curdling and we wanted to try and it keep as healthy as possible, which actually I think it was really, there was hardly any fat in it and I made a big thing of my own vegetable stock and froze the rest of it for another time. So if you're looking for something warming & comforting but also tasty, you have to try this on one of those chilly days :)

Paolo Nutini... What more can I say!

He is one of my favourite singers. A voice like no other and not bad to look at either ;)
Enjoy!

September already?!?!

I haven't written in a while mainly because I've been obsessed with finishing my Autumn wall hanging (and it's nearly there!) so I thought I'd post a few pics of things about what September means to me. I keep hearing about how people don't like Autumn I guess it's because the start of winter is nearing or too much rain, but I am the kind of girl that enjoys all the warm cozyness  that's involved in both Autumn & Winter seasons.. so here's a few inspiring photos for the month of September.

A few of my favourite things: Roaring fires, cups of tea, walks in the countryside on a crisp day, gold and dark red leaves on the ground, roast dinners, red wine, a cozy blanket wrapped around you and your hunny & reading a good book or watching a Hitchcock film, apple cider, pumpkin pie and sewing... I think you get the picture, hehe!!!

Hope I've got you in the warm and cozy mood now :) xx
